Kara has more than 25 years of experience serving in both human resource and attorney roles advising employers on personnel and employment law matters. Prior to attending law school, she spent eleven years in management roles in the health care industry. Today, Kara’s practice includes the representation of employers throughout the Pacific Northwest before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. Kara additionally provides counsel and advice to employers on personnel issues including Americans with Disabilities Act and Family Medical Leave Act compliance, wage and hour issues, unemployment claims, contract and handbook drafting, federal contractor compliance, and proactive audit measures. Kara conducts independent investigations of employment-related complaints and provides training for employers on various workplace topics. She is a regular speaker for local and state associations on employment topics. In her personal time, Kara enjoys outdoor activities and bike riding.
