
Nicholas C. Briggs
Associate
Nick joins the WBM litigation team after over twenty years as a first responder; three as a firefighter/EMT followed by eighteen as a police officer. His law enforcement career included a variety of instructor and specialty roles, as well as consultation as a subject matter expert in the areas of use of force, criminal law, and criminal procedure.
While working as a police officer, Nick attended law school, graduating magna cum laude. Nick also took advantage of externship opportunities, one of which was a judicial externship in Superior Court where he interacted with a wide range of civil proceedings.
During his tenure in law enforcement, Nick was a member of the SWAT team for over nine years. He remains connected to the tactical and law enforcement community by serving as the legal advisor for the Washington State Tactical Officers Association, in addition to remaining a police academy instructor.
Nick's practice area focuses on litigation including medical malpractice defense as well as an expanding role in police related claims, municipal defense, and employment law.
When out of the office, Nick enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out, and time on the lake.
